Traffic restrictions on the Giurgiu-Ruse Bridge

Starting from July 10, 2024, major repair works will be carried out at the Giurgiu-Ruse Friendship Bridge (between Bulgaria and Romania) on the Bulgarian section, which will lead to the restriction of road traffic on one of the lanes.

The repair activities are expected to last 730 days (2 years) without this fact leading to the complete stoppage of road traffic on the bridge.

In a first stage of the repairs, road traffic on the bridge will be restricted on the direction of entry into Bulgaria and, subsequently, on the direction of exit from Bulgaria, in the direction to Romania.

The repair activities will be carried out, as a rule, during the day, on road segments of 400 meters and will involve the temporary restriction of road traffic on the bridge, on the Bulgarian road section, to a single lane, in an alternative traffic regime.

For this there will be appropriate signaling devices, adaptive traffic light systems, road signs and directing staff.
